The first time I went to Colne in Lancashire was to film Jane and Neil’s wedding about 4 years ago. Since then I’ve filmed Jane’s sister’s wedding, her brother’s, several of their friends, and their friends friends, and I think I’m now up to their friends friends friends! So it was lovely to be back for Nicole and Liam’s big day at the Oaks Hotel and to bump into wedding guests Selina and Neil, whose wedding I filmed last year at the Fence Gate Hotel.
After capturing the girls getting ready I drove over to the Sacred Heart Church in the centre of Colne. I’ve filmed there a few times now, it’s a lovely church and a nice place to work. Definately a good choice for your marriage ceremony if you’re a Catholic in the Colne area.
Liam’s a really fun character, continually cracking jokes and one liners, and he and Nicole obviously really enjoying themselves through the service. Even the priest remarked that he’d never seen a couple so relaxed on their wedding day.
The Oaks is a Best Western hotel in Burnley, just down the M65 from Colne. After confetti outside the church, Nicole, Liam and their guests got on board a traditional London Bus for the journey. I was working alongside Natalie from Natalie Lou Photography. I haven’t met her before, but it was a pleasure to work with her, hope to see you again sometime Natalie 😀
We were really lucky with the weather, after a cold and rainy week, with warm sunshine throughout the day. Nicole, Liam and their guests were able to sit outside on the patio area overlooking the beautiful gardens surrounding the Oaks Hotel. I took the oportunity to get some drone footage of the hotel before capturing some shots of the happy couple in the gardens.
With the Same Day Edit package that Nicole and Liam had booked, I produce a highlights film on the day. This is shown on our big screen in the evening before the first dance. With roughly double the amount of guests arriving for the evening party, it was a great start to the celebrations. You can see it below:
