Owen House Wedding Barn is a funky new wedding venue in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. Holly and Patrick’s big day was our second job there, after photographing Hannah and Mark’s celebrations there back in March (when it was snowing!). The venue has a dedicated Civil Ceremony Room, and you can spend your entire day there from getting ready to the wedding night. One of our favourite aspects is the Beauty Shed, a very understated name for a building, purpose built, for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready in. The setting is perfect, relaxing and spacious, with plenty of light. So it’s ideal for make-up artists, hairdressers, and of course photographers and videographers.
For Holly and Patrick’s wedding, we were booked for photography as well as a Same Day Edit wedding film. Sarah being the photographer for the day, while Stu took care of the video. This blog is mainly about the video side, but I’ve included a small selection of Sarah’s images. You can see more of our photography here.
Owen House has a dedicated Civil Ceremony Room next door to the main barn. The room is has a very rustic feel, and moody lighting with lots of candles. It’s very atmospheric. Having it next to the barn means the guests can access the bar before and after the ceremony, with no problems turning rooms around. Combined with the Beauty Shed, the main barn itself, and the Luxurious Bridal Cabin, this makes Owen Hose Wedding Barn a great choice if you want a relaxed wedding day where you don’t have to worry about travelling to different locations.
After the ceremony we had a spell of rain. Fortunately there’s some great options for taking photographs under shelter, but with natural light. After photographs, and plenty of time for mingling with guests in the barn, it was time for some food. There’s a choice of award winning caterers at Owen House Wedding Barn, and you can’t go wrong with either. Holly and Patrick opted for Vanilla In Allseasons, who very kindly fed us with main courses and some of their exceptional cheesecake (and I say that as a cheesecake expert), so thanks guys! Seriously though, when we’re putting together a Same Day Edit Film, getting a hot meal really really helps.
When we saw Holly and Patrick had booked our friends the Funtime Frankies as their wedding band, we knew everyone would be in for a great time. To start the evening off, we played the Same Day Edit film that Stuart had been busily editing during the meal. This always works really well to kick start the party. Playing the film draws everyone around the dance floor, and it’s followed by cutting the cake, then straight into the first dance. Scroll down a little further to view the film 🙂
