Wedding Videographer – Sheldrakes on the Wirral

Sheldrakes Wedding Videographer Wirral – This is a gorgeous venue. It’s really unique as there aren’t any other venues along this stretch of shoreline along the Dee estuary. The romantic vista of welsh mountains and great-taking sunsets are magnificent as you can see in this video. Sheldrakes restaurant was originally the Dee Sailing Club, but after they moved in the early 80s, it bacame a restaurant. Previously known as the ‘shack on the beach’, owner Helen Demetrios has done a magnificent job of restoring it over the last few years.

Video of the Groom’s Speech

Stef and Ben live in Australia, so I didn’t have a chance to meet them face to face until quite close to the wedding. About a week before, they came over to the Wirral to make their final preparations for the big day. We met at the Anchor Inn near my home, and had a great chat about everything.

The one concern they had was that Ben was very nervous about doing a speech. It wasn’t that he didn’t have things to say, more that he dreaded standing up in front of everyone to do it. Ben’s anxiety about public speaking is quite common in my experience, and it can really spoil the day. It was looking like they might need to avoid speeches altogether, which would have been a shame. So, we decided on a plan. The day before the wedding I headed over to Stef’s sister’s home in Hoylake, where they were staying. Ben had written his speech, and I was able to record him reading it there and then. It was much less stressful for him and I know he felt so much better doing it that way. I’ve used part of the speech at the beginning of the Same Day Edit wedding video:

The Wedding Day

On the day, me and Sarah, the wedding photographer, started at Stef’s sister’s Wirral home. There was a lovely relaxed, but excited, atmosphere as the girls were getting ready.

Saint Hildeburgh’s Church

The ceremony was going to be nearby, at Saint Hildeburgh’s Church, near to the famous Royal Liverpool Golf Club. After a lovely wedding service and signing the register, the happy couple headed out of the church for confetti, then to their reception venue, Sheldrakes Restaurant in Lower Heswall.

Reception at Sheldrakes

Sheldrakes Wedding Video Wirral – There are some great opportunities for wedding videography with the bride and groom along the shore. The gradually decaying old boats scattered around make a great juxtaposition, and the sunsets are amazing. After some shots with Stef and Ben before long it was meal time. While the Sheldrakes team served the wedding breakfast, I was able to work putting together the wedding film for viewing later on. I also filmed the speeches, of course, but had the video ready in time for playing in the evening.
